Could this be an eBay scam? $50.00 gift card for $1.00?

The following link is a product for sale on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=180163546590&Category=31411&_trksid=p3907.m29
How can a gift worth $50.00 be sold for $1.00?
There is more information further down on the page.
I'm new to eBay, so…
…is this a scam of some sort??

Thanks!

Yes. This is a scam. You don't get the $50 gift card, you get information on how to get a $50 gift card. Big difference. Save your dollar.

I keep getting the same objection to my MLM. Can anyone tell me what I can say?

I am trying to build my business but everyone keeps telling me that my network marketing business is a scam. I know network marketing is not a scam, but I don't know how to handle this objection.

My company sells bottles of water. We only need to get on autoship for 1 liter of water and it costs $100 each. It sounds like a lot to pay for water, but if we sign up 5 people we get nearly all of it back, and once they sign up 5 people I am actually making good money. Then, as long as everyone signs up 5 people for 10 levels deep, i can make $10,000/month. This seems really smart to me but with everyone telling me its a scam there is nothing I can do.

What do you suggest?
i dont think you people understand. you only buy the water for 100 bucks becuase it gets the process going. once you get enough people in your downline you are making tons of money off other people who are buying it. eveyrone gets the same chance to make the money so its all legit.

This is what MLM is all about. Why anyone would think its a scam is beyond me.

Do not give up. If you believe in it, it will all happen for you. You really need to network and try to stay away from here as much as possible. Make yahoo just one source because a lot of people on here are looking for either an easy way to make money on the net or not a networking job, so just keep doing what you are doing. Go to network lunches in your area and such. Or, even consider venturing into another networking company and maybe you can network yours because really, I never heard of bottle water network company. I have been in mlm for almost a year, so i have heard of my share inresearching the right one. Good luck and email me and mayb I can give you some advice.

Is network marketing company USANA a scam?

The health science company of nutritional supplements known as USANA is an MLM, a multilevel marketing company. Is it a scam?

A scam is basically lying to people, giving someone an impression that is not accurate. Usana is a total scam in that they present all these earnings that all these reps are making but do not disclose the real numbers, do not disclose that their top reps are making more money from training materials and “other” company compensation than from their networks, etc. Anyone new to the opportunity would not know this and would simply look at the model and think it is possible.

No one is arguing here that you cannot make money or the system itself is at fault (that is an answer to a question you did not ask), but the money being represented is the scam, as it is not only not accurate, it is a blatant lie…in other words, a scam. Usana is badly known for this from anyone with inside knowledge of the top representatives who make all the claims.

Just because people fail does not make this a scam. People fail in all walks of life. But if I sold you a restaurant and gave you paper work stating how much business I had in the last 2 years, and that paperwork was blatantly and deliberately false, than that would be a scam…and that is in essence what is going on in Usana. The leaders will defend themselves by telling you that you should not listen to negative people or some people do not have what it takes (or any assortment of reasons to thwart your line of question) but the reality it none of it makes the scam any less of scam.

How do i successfully sell pop music i've written & recorded on the internet?

I've heard about bands and singers successfully marketing themselves and having hit albums by building up a following on the internet. Where do I start? I know there are websites who will charge me a fee to market my music but how do I know whether they're a scam or not. Thanks in anticipation.

Create a myspace profile. Market on your space.

I attached an example of a band in my home state.

Does anyone know of a legitimate, profitable, work-at-home or internet business (besides ebay)?

Lots of these real estate businesses and other scams either don't work, or reqire that you buy a lot of other stuff above and beyond your initial investment, and they still don't work.

If you've got good copywriting skills and decent web design skills, affillilate programs can work. Try clickback.com. They're the most reputable.

Multi level marketing/ Franchising/ and Network marketing?

My g/f and I are looking to supplement our income with a few extra dollars. I have read and heard many a scheme on tv, books, advertisements and the such promising millions, however, I have also exhausted myself in hearing, and reading just the opposite. So my questions are:
Is this a legitimate business opportunity? And if it is legitimate, how does one get into the biz without getting ripped off by the millions of predators out there looking for desparate young couples to steel their lifesavings from with a scam?

STAAAAAAY AWAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!

for every one success story you read or see on tv, there are a million unsuccessful stories. I have seen my friends go through this stuff and I have to say it's not worth it.

If you really must try it out for yourself, then find something where you aren't buying the product yourself and then reselling it. That is where most people lose their money. They buy all these products and then can't sell them. Something like Amway or Arbonne is ok (still not great) because you can show off products with catalogs and website info without having to purchase the stuff yourself. This way you are not really investing money into it.

One more thing- Be careful not get to the salesperson attitude. You will lose friends and contact with family. People in this business tend to badger everyone they know just to buy their product and then their friends and family members don't want to answer the phone when they call anymore.

So as I stated before, I don't think it is worth it.

How do I know on line based work at homes are scams or not? What is MLM and BBB?

Most Internet based businesses requier a start up cost. where can I get a free ones?

MLM is multi-level marketing. In multi-level marketing, each individual has an equal opportunity to advance in the business. At each level, there is a commission paid for a product sold. There may be a start up cost, ie. for materials, website, etc. but there should be no profit made on someone registering with the company. There can only be a profit when a product is actually sold. BBB is the Better Business Bureau. One can register his company with the BBB by becoming a member for a fee. It is not a governing agency but rather a place where the consumer can report companies for any misdealings they have had. It can work on the consumer's behalf to reach a resolution.

Promotion, Marketing & Socializing is a big part of a musicians success but what about fans with no internet?

Hello,

I would like to make a brief introduction about myself. I am the lead singer/vocalist in a rock/pop band, The Embezzles, (name have been changed quite a few times within the past few months)and we’re very similar to Paramore and Linkin Park. We’re sort of a big deal in East Texas with an increasing fan base which continues to grow expendably great but we have a big problem communicating and contacting fans. We’ve tried everything from Post Office boxes, Private Mailboxes and social networking sties. Unfortunately, the Postal Services are on shaky ground. Postal Services have rules and regulations to combat mail fraud and other crimes committed using postal and private mailboxes which sounds convincing but the postal services are on the wrong side here.

Rather than protecting privacy they are seeking to invade it and rather than allowing some consumer choice they are looking to stifle what little competition exists. Unfortunately, scam artists also utilize the convenience of private mailboxes to hide illegal activities, such as credit card fraud, identity theft and schemes to swindle the elderly. In other words or simple terms, P.O. boxes and Private Mailboxes are growing concerns of the postal services used in order to single out P.O. boxes and PMB(private mailboxes) who have personal accounts instead of business accounts.

We would like to have an address rather than using one of our own physical home address because you guys are aware of fans(groupies) can be a bit psychotic at times when bands are in the limelight destined for stardom. Instead of selling merchandise, passing out flyers, etc. from our tour van/hotel (lol) J, we decided that we want to be able to reach fans outside of our 100 mile radius giving fans the opportunity to write personal letters to one our band members, pics or whatever the fans want to give their favorite band (The Embezzles ) <<<<>>>>,in order to converse on numerous occasions, but we do not want to give the government or postal office or any carrier service speculations or any misleading ideas that we are subjecting to a scheme to earn money or somehow get personal information from individuals. All we want is to build a connection with our fans in order to solidify our relationships to remind them of upcoming tour dates, nearby performances, or any updates we might have in order to refresh the memories of our fans.

We were recommended on some international mail forwarding service sites but getting an international P.O. or Private box seems a little suspect, wouldn’t you agree? Although they offer great services they only require your personal information….sometimes to much information. I have scavenged many postal services sites and some websites seem a bit puzzling. Even though they have U.S. Postal Forms and identification requirements they false advertise and some sites even have numerous complaints from previous customers. If I were to come across one of these misleading websites how would I be able to recognize a true and faithful postal or forwarding service from any other website posing as a legit mail forwarding service? Are there any services that allows you to apply online if so this would be my first option to cut out the hassle and run around the postal services have been giving us.

Thanks for your all your time and help.

Starting to look like spam, but all I can say is- I had a friend who was in a band back in the mid-late 80s. This was Before the internet & they managed to get fan mail from Japan.

So if some no name band could do it back *then*……
